Explorations in XR

Adding AR to a CAD workflow
Detailing :
Producing a model on to your desk either image tracked or plane tracked that is edited in real time mimicking your cad workspace. A compromise on immersive cad workflows but effective for detailing and visualizing organic forms. May be helpful in modeling around or cleaning a photogrammetric reference.

Facilitating linking memories and virtual information to physical objects.
At this point we have far more digital than physical artifacts from documents to models to pictures and our interfaces are layered, 2d and often organized, but far more often not.
Here i experimented with the idea of storing virtual artifacts in physical locations.
The basic background was to link objects and images to a cloud service like google.

Use cases
-You buy a washing machine scan it or and graphic content on it and store to the cloud
-8 months later there is a problem flip open your camera scan your target, produce all linked documents like warranty and user manual
Other cases:
linking digital memories like emails messages even videos and photos to a frame on the wall.
Linking birth certificate, scans of your passport etc. to your adhaar or drivers license
Conclusion.
All this data can be stored digitally and safely and you can remember. but the value of this lies in its use over time as you addmore links, you start linking data of different kinds to different things where your order is not dictated by folders on your phone but rather things in the world
Over time you can store your associations beyond just function, link a spotify song to your favorite bottle of wine or an interesting paper to a difficult book.
The idea is to facilitate the association of physical and digital artifacts like we already do but now in a way that's shareable and functional.

Exchanged Vision
As a part of a college club all about making new games we came up with a simple game dynamic where you wear a VR headset like google cardboard and whatever you see is casted to another participant wearing a headset and now you play games with this vision.
Use cases:
Classic games:
games like tag or dog in the bone.
Co-op games:
Throwing rings at each other.

Head tracking rig
Head mapping and a little compromise can let you play low spec VR games like Minecraft for a whole 15 minutes before motion sickness kicks in.it was an interesting idea for future projects.

Ongoing projects
1. Low tech solutions to mimic volume of virtual objects for simple XR experiences.
2. Reimagining physical ,virtual and digital expectations to create interactions and applications for future tech.(ongoing thought experiment/Paper)
